Spinosaurus was a dinosaur that lived during the Cretaceous period 112 to 93 million years ago. It was among the largest of all known carnivorous dinosaurs, nearly as large as or even larger than Tyrannosaurus. It had a narrow skull, similar in shape to a crocodile’s, but about 5-6 ft long.
This tooth likely chewed up plenty of smaller animals and fish. The name refers to the dinosaur’s large spinal sail, the purpose of which remains unclear.
