Wafers are thin sliced semiconductors used to manufacture microelectronics and computer components. This sample is an 8" uncut silicon wafer with integrated circuits. Each wafer contains thousands of duplicate photo-lithographed circuits. Typically this wafer would have been cut up and the individual components would be installed in cell phones, satellite, computers, etc. This item is very fragile, so handle with care.
Made of 99.999999% pure silicon (Si), so it also makes a great sample for element collectors.
