Mosasaurus was a type of large, carniverous, aquatic lizard. It was technically not a dinosaur, but a reptile closely related to snakes and monitor lizards. Mosasaurus grew up to 50ft (15m) long and existed for about 4 million years until the mass extinction event that ended the Mesozoic period.
Here's a fascinating article on how these teeth fossils are the center of an ongoing scientific debate about whether Mosasaurs are related closer to snakes or lizards.
This article, by skeletal illustrator Scott Hartman, presents an interesting discussion regarding the shape of Mosasaur tails.

I purchase the tooth for my son’s fossil collection. He loved it. Arrived in time. The fossil has a good size and price was great too.
